Title

Lost Pavillion

Description

David Maljković’s unrealised work consists of a reconstruction of the American Pavilion designed and built by John Johansen for the 1956 Zagreb Fair. The pavilion was intended to represent the American presence at a fair that, for many years, had symbolised a bridge of exchange between Yugoslavia, Europe, the United States, and the USSR, as well as between the Western and Eastern blocs and the non-aligned countries.David Maljković decontextualised the work and proposed reconstructing the pavilion as part of a public art project in the city of Lyon, entitled GrandLyon Habitat.
