Title A name given to the resource Elio Marchegiani Description An account of the resource He was born in Syracuse in 1929 to Sicilian parents. In 1934, he moved with his family to Livorno, where he spent his childhood and youth. He began painting as a self-taught artist. Following family tradition, he pursued a classical education and enrolled in the Faculty of Law at the University of Pisa. His encounter with Mario Nigro led him to choose the path he would follow. He began organising exhibitions and cultural events, but it was his acquaintance and friendship with Gianni Bertini that encouraged him to leave the province and embark on an artistic adventure that took him to Paris, Milan, Rome, and Bologna. He would later establish residences in these cities, while during the summer months he preferred to work in his studio on the island of Favignana. For several years, he has lived in Pianoro Vecchio, a residential hillside area along Via Toscana, the road leading to the Futa Pass, while in summer he works from studios in Misano Adriatico and on the island of Ischia.
